摘要: The North American connection, or the Grenvillian continental crust that separated from eastern America during initiation of Appalachian orogenic cycle, is poorly defined within present orogen. A variety terranes occur outboard miogeocline, all structurally uncoupled and therefore suspect. Stratigraphic analysis indicates accretion progressed miogeocline outward. boundaries earliest accreted western are marked by melange ophiolite complexes. Later between steep mylonitic zones brittle faults. Accretionary events, analysis, correspond to times major deformation, plutonism, metamorphism in history
