摘要: Natural honey (honey) is considered as a part of traditional medicine all over the world. It has both antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, useful in stimulation wounds burns healing gastric ulcers treatment. The aim this study, for first time, was to investigate properties protective role against carcinogen chemical aflatoxin (AF) exposure rats, which were evaluated by histopathological changes liver kidney, measuring level serum marker enzymes [aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanin (ALT), gamma glutamil transpeptidase (GGT)], defense systems [Reduced glutathione (GSH), reductase (GR), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione-S-transferase (GST) catalase (CAT)], lipid peroxidation content liver, erythrocyte, brain, heart lungs. Eighteen healthy Sprague–Dawley rats randomly allocated into three experimental groups: A (Control), B (AF-treated) C (AF + honey-treated). While group fed with diet without AF, B, groups received 25 μg AF/rat/day, where additionally 1 mL/kg gavage 90 days. At end 90-day period, we found that supplementation decreased levels enzyme associated damage, increased enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidants AF + honey-treated rats. Hepatoprotective nephroprotective effects further substantiated showing almost normal histological architecture group, compared degenerative kidney AF-treated Additionally, ameliorated defens other tissues AF + honey treated present study indicates hepatoprotective effect aflatoxicosis due its activity.
