摘要: A major problem with on-site sanitation is nitrate pollution of the groundwater. tentative nitrogen budget established for pit latrines in eastern Botswana. The ammonia volatilisation was found to be negligible while leaching varied largely from about 1 50%. Leaching assessed by using chloride as tracer, assuming two sources chloride, atmospheric deposition and use common salt food. initial content excreta nutritional data. residual abandoned analysis, 15–20%. remainder should denitrification which would then order 30–70%. That important supported an elevated N-isotope ratio groundwater deep-rooted non-N-fixing trees. varying rate provides a possibility checking it sealing latrines. Since 95% human present urine, even more attractive solution urine-separating surface near percolation urine root zone vegetation, utilising crop growth. such are used elsewhere world not technical but social acceptability.
