摘要: Abstract Shot peening is a mechanical surface treatment that consists of projecting numerous small particles onto ductile surface. Repeated and random hammering leads to compressive residual stresses as well work-hardening near the resulting in potentially significant improvement fatigue performance. On other hand, shot also increases roughness can produce damage which are detrimental properties. Fatigue life prediction models have been proposed predict combined influence these factors. Most assume uniform material state parallel The current work investigated heterogeneities present peened aluminium alloy AA2024-T351 after repeated impacts terms stresses, work-hardening, roughness, while considering initial non-uniformities material. Experimental numerical methods were obtain detailed description at various length scales. implications performance potential contributions simulation discussed.
