摘要: "Life Histories of the Dobe !Kung" re-examines an important anthropological data set for !Kung, well-known 'Bushmen' Kalahari Desert, collected by Nancy Howell and colleagues. Using life history analysis, reinterprets this rich material to address question how these hunter-gatherers maintain their notably good health from childhood through old age in Kalahari's harsh environment. She divides population into stages that correlate with estimated chronological ages demonstrates why they survive, even thrive, on a modest allotment calories. describes surplus food is produced distributed, she considers both motives generous sharing has observed among !Kung some evolutionary implications behavior.
