摘要: A three-dimensional numerical model is developed to study the behaviour of an argon-nitrogen plasma arc inside a non-transferred torch. In this model, both entire cathode and anode nozzle are considered simulate arc. The simulated for different currents gas flow rates argon. Various combinations core radius length, which correspond given torch power, predicted. most feasible combination same, corresponds actual physical situation torch, identified using thermodynamic principle minimum entropy production particular power. effect current rate on characteristics efficiency explained. nitrogen content in power clearly detected. Predicted efficiencies comparable measured ones predicted almost similar. losses temperature velocity at exit reported five cases.
