摘要: Abstract Turbot ( Scophthalmus maximus ) were exposed to two sublethal concentrations (1 and 10 mg metal/l) of cadmium (8.9 89 μM Cd), copper (15.26 152.6 μM Cu) zinc (15.3 153 μM Zn) for 7 days, afterwards maintained depurating 14 days. Immunoreactive metallothioneins ir MTs) metal ions localized in the branchial epithelium by immunohistochemistry (using an anti-Cod MT antibody) autometallography (AMG), respectively. Metal demonstrated AMG as black silver deposits (BSD), mainly mucocytes (MC) a lesser extent other cell-types (respiratory cells (RC), chloride (CC) basal layer (BLC)). Irrespective supplied, BSD rapidly visualized MC after 1 h exposure. This accumulation did not increase with increasing exposure time concentration. Metallothionein expression was observed mature CC interlamellar space all conditions it shown that express same amount MT. The number exhibiting metal-exposed turbots increased following short times (1 h–1 day) filament longer (1–7 days) secondary lamellae. Total levels gills (quantified image analysis densitometry) significantly turbot related times. It can be concluded total content is governed changes expressing protein. quantification considered reliable biomarker since reflects bioavailability. approach based on cell-selective simplified only quantifying CC. In addition, dramatic produces epithelial thickening FE enhances migration up edge SL provokes hypertrophy fusion lamellae unspecific biomarkers effect indicating disturbed health turbot.
