摘要: Abstract This study is the first to use satellite telemetry track post-nesting movements of endangered green turtles (Chelonia mydas) in Gulf Guinea. Satellite transmitters were attached 2018 six Atlantic nesting on Bioko Island, Equatorial Guinea, their and locate foraging grounds. Track lengths 20-198 days analyzed, for a total 536 movement turtles. Migratory pathways grounds identified by applying switching state space model locational data, which provides daily position estimates identify shifts between migrating behavior. Turtles exhibited combination coastal oceanic migrations that ranged from 957 km 1,131 km. Of turtles, five completed migration maintained residency at same ground near waters Accra, Ghana until transmission was lost. These resident inhabit heavily fished polluted are vulnerable variety anthropogenic threats. The identification these highlights importance protection turtle.
