摘要: The abundance of the tick Ixodes ricinus (L.) and infection rate ticks with Borrelia burgdorferi (Johnson et al.) were compared on either side a deer fence in forest park County Galway, Ireland, an attempt to elucidate role fallow deer, Dama dama, woodmice, Apodemus sylvaticus, determining population density I. transmission B. burgdorferi. results showed that numbers much higher fence, although mice was similar both sides. This suggests that, absence other obvious factors, rather than are responsible for this habitat. Tick rates, determined by immunofluorescence, consistently outside inside it. It is suggested, therefore, may be important reservoir hosts habitat feeding many larvae, probably contribute large uninfected population. If case, there will not direct relationship between rates. has implications risk assessment.
