摘要: Laminar flow is among themost discussed technologies toward satisfying the ambitious goals ofmore fuel-efficient aviation. Both passive as well active laminar control systems are sensitive to external influences and system failures. A sudden degradation of laminarflow immediately results in loss offlight performance. Such offdesign cases have be considered preliminary design synthesis for correct sizing aircraft. In scope this paper, an approach presented that incorporates aircraft into synthesis. The authors chose use extended-range twin-engine performance standards a framework deriving operational with technology. Different requirements minimum derived directly impact overall case study, sensitivities these discussed. Design parameters such maximum takeoff weight, block fuel, economics used evaluation different concepts.
