摘要: Rhodopsin is a retinal photoreceptor protein of bipartite structure consisting the transmembrane opsin and light-sensitive chromophore 11-cis-retinal, linked to via protonated Schiff base. Studies on rhodopsin have unveiled many structural functional features that are common large pharmacologically important group proteins from G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily, which best-studied member. In this work, we focus as revealed by biochemical investigations. particular, high-resolution bovine provides template for understanding how GPCRs work. We describe sensitivity complexity lead its role in vision.
