摘要: Background Epidural administration of dexamethasone might reduce postoperative pain in adults. We evaluated whether a caudal block 0.1 mg kg –1 combined with ropivacaine improves analgesic efficacy children undergoing day-case orchiopexy. Methods This randomized, double-blind study included 80 aged 6 months to 5 yr who underwent day-case, unilateral Patients received either 1.5 ml −1 0.15% (Group C) or which was mixed D) for analgesia. Postoperative scores, rescue consumption, and side-effects were 48 h after operation. Results scores at 24 post-surgery significantly lower Group D than C. Furthermore, the number subjects remained free up operation greater [19 38 (50%)] C [four 37 (10.8%); P =0.027]. Time first oral surgery also longer ( P= 0.014). Adverse events including vomiting, fever, wound infection, dehiscence comparable between two groups. Conclusions The addition can improve Clinical trial registration NCT01604915.
