Who remembers best? Individual differences in memory for events that occurred in a science museum

摘要: Individual differences in memory and suggestibility were assessed an experiment involving 1989 people who attended the Exploratorium, a science museum located San Francisco. Subjects watched brief film clip of assault later answered questions about it. Approximately half received misinformation some critical items. Four demographic variables (gender, educational level, age, occupation) examined to determine their impact on performance. The principle discrepancy detection predicts that, compared individuals with good memory, have poor begin will be relatively suggestible (that is susceptible misinformation). Some our findings consistent this principle. For example, children (5–10 years) elderly (over 65) inaccurate also suggestible.
