摘要: Objective: The aim of the present study was to investigate pharmacognostical and phytochemical characters medicinal plant Talinum triangulare (Portulacaceae), commonly known as waterleaf. leaves shade-loving possess great therapeutic value in traditional system medicines but have not been fully exploited. Methods: Morphological anatomical details different parts waterleaf were studied. physico-chemical parameters, fluorescence analysis quantitative estimation determined for crude drug. Preliminary screening carried out extracts. Results: Physico-chemical properties such loss on drying, total ash, acid insoluble ash water soluble calculated be 10.643%, 28.070%, 0.067% 7.789% (w/w) respectively. Water extractive (23.420% w/w) more than alcohol (10.080% investigations extracts revealed presence various phyto-constituents like alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, proteins carbohydrates. Plant metabolites alkaloids (0.637 ± 0.191 mg/gm dry weight), flavonoids (0.225 0.041 phenolics (0.319 0.059 carbohydrates (1.295 0.229 amino acids (2.033 0.120 weight) (1.218 0.049 quantitatively estimated. Conclusion: evaluation these will help future researchers well pharmacological this species.
