摘要: In order to gain experience in fluid-structure interaction the fluid mechanics laboratory, students junior year designed multi-bladed propellers and utilised them simulate motion of surgical bone reamers tubes filled with water. Using a test stand, they had built actual from manufacturers, investigated effect rotation translation on flow rates pressures generated during operations. Their results show that propeller reduces rate radial direction, creates transient surge pressure, causes steady-state pressure surrounding fall below baseline value, defined here as which existed before was initiated. These were consistent what is reported by orthopaedic surgeons.
