摘要: WE WISH to report a case in which epilepsy (grand mal) and idiopathic hypoparathyroidism with tetany occurred simultaneously. The patient was observed for period of 2½years. In this correction the hypocalcemia completely controlled both tetanic manifestations epileptic seizures, despite discontinuation specific anti-epileptic therapy. CASE REPORT A white male, aged 23 years, gave history grand mal attacks began at age 14. They were characterized by an aura “unusual” sensation mouth extreme fatigue, follofied typical cry, tonic convulsions, cyanosis, tonguebiting, foaming mouth, unconsciousness that lasted 5–10 minutes, followed sleep. Between 1933 1939 he experienced about 7 such attacks. became subject spells staring swallowing two or three times day. addition more frequent every month.
