摘要: In this study of peridotite xenoliths from Ichinomegata volcano, Oga peninsula, NE Japan, we used electron backscattered diffraction to assess the validity two methods identifying olivine slip system that operated during deformation. The are harzburgite in composition and contain a distinct foliation lineation defined by aligned spinel pyroxene grains. Using first method, dominant was estimated based on crystallographic preferred orientation (CPO) with respect lineation. second method an analysis subgrain rotation: given intracrystalline boundaries were observed within several grains, measured misorientation angles across these define sets planes, directions, rotation axes. systems using essentially identical. CPO pattern provides important constraint deformation, whereas yields responsible for development individual composed edge dislocations. therefore complementary.
