摘要: Background: Certain evidence points to a role of inflammation in AF pathophysiology. Thus, antiinflammatory treatment is discussed. Effects dexamethasone (7 days) on atrial ion currents (ICa,L, Ito, Isus) and their tachycardia-induced remodeling were studied rabbit model. Methods: 6 groups 4 animals each built. Rapid pacing (600 min) was performed for 24 120 hours with/ without treatment. Ion measured using whole cell patch clamp method. Results: reduced Ito decreased after but almost returned control values hours. When dexamethasone-treated also underwent tachypacing, pacing-induced reduction ICa,L still observed even augmented compared untreated tachypaced animals. not influenced by alone. In animals, occurred tachypacing. Isus neither rapid nor dexamethasone. Biophysical properties all affected Conclusion: Dexamethasone alterations Ito. Our experiments give that - amongst other anti-inflammatory action – impact might play treatment/prevention with steroids.
