摘要: The discovery of agamid lizards from the Lower Eocene (ca. 53 Ma) deposits Vastan Lignite Mine, western India, is reported, based on a number dentaries and one maxilla. There are at least two distinct sets dentary bones with varying morphologies, indicating presence different taxa, Vastanagama susani gen. et sp. nov. Tinosaurus indicus new finds represent oldest known occurrence in Cenozoic South Asia. Though tricuspid, teeth maxilla V. T. appear more closely related to Tikiguania estesi, Late Triassic taxon than various species Paleogene North America, Europe Differences include development lateral cuspules posterior broad, flat or convex platform-like subdental ridge significance these fossils context 'Out-of-India' 'In-to-India' paleobiogeographic hypotheses discussed.
