摘要: Root-mean-square distance Drms with characteristic of weighted-average is introduced in this article firstly. can be used to capture the general proximity a site dipping fault plane comparing rupture Drup and seismogenic Dseis. Then, using Drup, Dseis Drms, hanging wall/footwall effects on peak ground acceleration (PGA) during 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake are evaluated by regression analysis. The logarithm residual shows that PGA wall much greater than footwall at same or when as site-to-source measure. In contrast, there no significant difference between used. This result confirms effect mainly geometric caused asymmetry fault. Therefore, near-fault motions ignored future attenuation analysis if root-mean-square
