摘要: High-power gigawatt-level radiation can be generated by the interaction of an electromagnetic wave and annular electron beam with a transverse dimension much larger than operating wavelength. The use such large-circumference allows generation high currents while also maintaining low space charge RF power densities inside region. This circumvents problems associated potential depression in channel breakdown oscillator. In this paper, we present studies high-current magnetically confined beams discuss their production transportation through coaxial which formed region free-electron maser (FEM). results from numerical simulations, using software packages KARAT MAGIC, are compared experimental measurements. operation FEM, driven beam, is presented, tunability maser, frequency range defined input 2-D Bragg mirror, demonstrated.
