摘要: Abstract The possible impact of increased aridity on sand dune activity the Canadian Prairies is evaluated by comparing mobility indices for period 1961–1990 to those 1988 drought year. 30-year mean indices, with P:PE ratios ranging from 0·50 0·90, indicate dunes be presently either inactive or having only crests active. Using a scenario in which conditions were prolonged, region predicted increase most arid localities active accompanied vegetated interdune areas. central prairies would have semi-arid rather than sub-humid climate, as low 0·30. Despite aridity, likely remain parabolic.
