摘要: Two types of stability boundaries exist for any planetary system consisting one star and two planets. Lagrange requires that the planets remain bound to star, conserves ordering distance from limits variations orbital elements like semimajor axis eccentricity. Hill only constant; outer planet may escape infinity. A simple formula defines a region in element space is guaranteed be Hill-stable, although Hill-stable orbits lie outside as well. No analytic criteria describe stability. We compare results 1000 numerical simulations systems similar 47 UMa HD 12661 with these boundaries. All cases are consistent criterion Moreover, numerically determined boundary lies close This result suggests an formulation
