摘要: Abstract By means of videotape, we observed and timed courtship, mating, refractoriness in the American black bear while confined a semicaptive environment. Sixty-six courtships resulted mating. During male detected estrus receptivity female. Courtship lasted 22.5±2.3 s (mean±S.E.M.). We videotaped reviewed 61 matings that included mounts, pelvic thrusts, flutters. Mating 51.6±4.2 s. Within these matings, there were 24 thrusts 14 flutters observed. Pelvic averaged 2.3±0.3 times, 11.1±2.9 times. Of courtship–mating segments, 28 segments depicted refractory period, 27 female period. The period 44.9±6.1 s during which sat licked his genital region. walked, ran away, or turned attacked her 54.2±8.3 s This is first time large number paired ursid has been described timed.
