摘要: Background and Purpose— Magnesium sulfate is used extensively for prevention of eclamptic seizures. Empirical clinical evidence supports the effectiveness magnesium sulfate; however, questions remain as to its safety mechanism. This review summarizes current supporting possible mechanisms action several controversies treatment. Summary Review— Several are presented, including effects on peripheral cerebral vasodilation, blood-brain barrier protection, an anticonvulsant. Conclusions— Though specific unclear, effect in eclampsia likely multi-factorial. may act a vasodilator, with actions vasculature or cerebrovasculature, decrease vascular resistance relieve vasoconstriction.
