摘要: The last 60 years has seen unprecedented groundwater extraction and overdraft as well development of new technologies for water treatment that together drive the advance in intentional replenishment known managed aquifer recharge (MAR). This paper is first attempt to quantify volume MAR at global scale, illustrate advancement all major types relate these research regulatory advancements. Faced with changing climate rising intensity extremes, an increasingly important management strategy, alongside demand management, maintain, enhance secure stressed systems protect improve quality. During this time, scientific research—on hydraulic design facilities, tracer studies, managing clogging, recovery efficiency quality changes aquifers—has underpinned practical improvements had broader benefits hydrogeology. Recharge wells have greatly accelerated recharge, particularly urban areas mine management. In recent years, into governance, operating practices, reliability, economics, risk assessment public acceptance been undertaken. Since 1960s, implementation a rate 5%/year, but not keeping pace increasing extraction. Currently, reached estimated 10 km3/year, ~2.4% countries reporting (or ~1.0% extraction). likely exceed 10% extraction, based on experience where more advanced, sustain quantity, reliability supplies.
