摘要: The Great Limpopo is one of the largest Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) in world, encompassing vast areas South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. TFCA concept embraced by practically all (international) conservation agencies. rationale for support that the boundaries ecosystems generally do not overlap with those nation-state. Their protection requires transnational cooperation. By arguing that local communities living or close to TFCAs will participate benefit economically, proponents claim social legitimacy the project. However, analysis shows first have live up rigid standards requirements set international authorities, before they are considered 'fit' participate. Communities attempt resist this type marginalization forming alliances with (inter)national development human rights NGOs, mixed results.
