Newtonian noise limit in atom interferometers for gravitational wave detection

摘要: In this work we study the influence of Newtonian noise on atom interferometers applied to detection gravitational waves, and compute resulting limits sensitivity in two different configurations: a single interferometer, or pair operated differential configuration. We find that for instrumental configurations considered, operating frequency range [0.1–10] Hz, would be comparable those affecting large scale optical interferometers.
