What Is the Best Dementia Screening Instrument for General Practitioners to Use?

摘要: Objective The objective of this study was to review existing dementia screening tools with a view informing and recommending suitable instruments general practitioners (GPs) based on their performance practicability for practice. Method A systematic search pre-MEDLINE, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, the Cochrane Library Database undertaken. Only available full-text articles about written in English or an version were included. Articles using translation language instrument excluded unless validated practice, community, population sample. Results General Practitioner Assessment Cognition (GPCOG), Mini-Cog, Memory Impairment Screen (MIS) chosen as most routine GPCOG, MIS all population, practice samples, are easy administer, have administration times 5 minutes less. They also negative predictive validity misclassification rates, which do not differ significantly from those Mini-Mental Status Examination. Conclusions It is recommended that GPs consider when cognitive impairment case detection.
