Electron Transmission Spectroscopy: Rare Gases

摘要: A transmission experiment is used to observe structure in the total electron-impact cross section for He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe below respective ionization potentials, also region of autoionizing states. The positions resonances are tabulated compared with results other investigators. In both neon argon, relatively large isolated exist near edge Rydberg series involving inner-shell states, i.e., 47.5 29 eV, respectively.
