摘要: Gastrointestinal physiology is dynamic and complex at the best of times, a multitude known variables can affect overall bioavailability drugs delivered via oral route. Yet while influences food beverage intake as just two these on drug delivery have been extensively documented in wider literature, specific information their effects remains sporadic, not so much contextually reviewed. Food co-ingestion with dosage forms mediate several changes to bioavailability, yet precise mechanisms underlying this be fully elucidated. Likewise, often detrimental alcohol (ethanol) form performance widely observed experimentally, but knowledge which has only moderately impacted clinical practice. Here, we attempt piece together available subject matter relating both solid liquid foodstuffs gastrointestinal milieu implications for delivery, particular emphasis behaviour modified-release forms, formulation robustness absorption. Providing better insight into influences, exemplifying cases where formulations developed or modified circumvent associated problems, help appropriately direct design future vitro digestive modelling systems well resilient effects. Moreover, will our understanding impact normal gut function.
