摘要: Effective prevention of syringe-borne transmission HIV and the hepatitis viruses can be undermined if contact between injection drug users staff programs is impeded by police harassment, limited program resources, absence an open "drug scene." All these are commonplace in Russian Federation. In response, "Project Renewal," harm reduction AIDS Prevention Control Center Tatarstan Ministry Health Kazan, has created a hybrid syringe exchange that as its primary focus recruited trained volunteers to provide secondary exchange. To compensate for operational barriers, identified private venues responsible individuals work through their own related networks injectors clean syringes, other supplies, educational materials, while facilitating collection removal used potentially contaminated syringes. Program developed detailed set tracking instruments monitor, on daily weekly basis, locations types contacts dissemination trainings materials ensure distribution network reaches target audience. Data show sites have proven more productive than mobile fixed-site exchanges Kazan.
