摘要: Abstract Mangrove forests provide vital ecosystem services for millions of people living in coastal communities. The expansion aquaculture production and urbanization have been identified as major causes mangrove clearance South-East Asia. Ca Mau peninsula Vietnam is leading the country shrimp at same time, region home to largest remaining forests. This study aims assess spatial temporal forest dynamics Ngoc Hien district Mau. Land cover change fragmentation are quantified using remote sensing imagery consisting a series SPOT5 scenes from 2004, 2009 2013. results indicate high turnover land change, with close half being affected by changes between 2004 2014. Net found average −0.34% annually, characterized deforestation afforestation Fragmentation remains plausible threat; approximately 35.4% part interior ‘core’ Forest zones different regulation regimes play significant role shaping geographic distribution changes. insights into recent facilitate informed discussion on improving future protection abiding anthropogenic pressures.
