摘要: Abstract : This documentation describes, the development of RTM and it tangent linear adjoint models for use new Goestationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) system, Defense Meteorology Program (DMSP) Special Sensor Microwave Temperature sounder SSM/T, Water Vapor Profiler SSM/T-2. The is major forward (observation) operator which calculates radiance based on model state input satellite geometry. observation developed according to method described by Navon et al. (1992) also in this documentation. Satellites are a critical part global observing particularly over oceans where very few other observations exist. While temperature humidity retrievals from have played some roles numerical weather prediction, more benefits may be obtained direct rawer form data, could handled with introduction techniques into meteorology (Le Dimet Talagrand, 1986). document organized as follows: A brief description GOES-8, SSM/T SSM/T2 provided Section 2. RTMs presented 3. 4 reports correctness test results. linkage given 5. last section, 6, provides source codes.
