Partial molecular characterization of alphaherpesviruses isolated from tropical bats.

摘要: Herpesviruses have previously been isolated from African and South-American bats. Recently, herpesviruses detected European insectivorous bats (family Vespertilionidae) were classified molecularly as betaherpesviruses gammaherpesviruses. In the current study, we performed PCR analyses targeting UL30 catalytic subunit region of DNA polymerase gene South American new Malagasy Cambodian bats, especially frugivorous families Pteropodidae Phyllostomidae. The sequences obtained amplified products indicated that these isolates belonged to genus Simplexvirus subfamily Alphaherpesvirinae.
