摘要: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a leading cause of mortality worldwide. Despite recognizing the importance risk factors in dictating CVD susceptibility and onset, patient treatment remains challenging endeavor. Increasingly, benefits prevention mitigation earlier life being acknowledged. The developmental origins health disease posits that insults during specific periods development can influence long-term outcomes; this occurs because developing organism is highly plastic, hence vulnerable to environmental perturbations. By extension, targeted therapeutics instituted critical may confer protection, thus reduce later life. This review provides brief overview models programming, then discusses impact perinatal therapeutic interventions on cardiovascular function offspring. discussion focuses bioactive food components, as well pharmacological agents currently approved for use pregnancy; short, those most likely be used pregnancy early childhood.
