摘要: The collaboration of more than 600 scientists from over 100 laboratories to sequence the Saccharomyces cerevisiae genome was largest decentralised experiment in modern molecular biology and resulted a unique data resource representing first complete set genes eukaryotic organism. 12 million bases were sequenced truly international effort involving European, US, Canadian Japanese laboratories. While yeast represents only small fraction information today's public databases, complete, ordered non-redundant provides an invaluable for detailed analysis cellular gene function architecture. In terms throughput, completeness content, has always been lead organism genomics; it is still be completely sequenced.
