摘要: The recent isolation of human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) from activated CD4+ T lymphocytes a healthy individual raises questions regarding the prevalence this virus in humans and its immunological relationship to previously characterized herpesviruses. We report that HHV-7 is ubiquitous which immunologically distinct highly prevalent T-lymphotropic HHV-6. Thus, (i) only two six monoclonal antibodies HHV-6 cross-reacted with HHV-7-infected cells, (ii) Western immunoblot analyses viral proteins revealed different patterns for HHV-6- (iii) tests sequential serum samples children seroconversion without concomitant HHV-7, (iv) some instances infection occurred presence high titers antibodies, suggesting lack apparent protection seropositive against subsequent HHV-7. On basis sera adults it can be concluded which, like other herpesviruses, infects during childhood. age appears somewhat later than very early documented
