摘要: It is widely acknowledged that there are major concerns about quality of care, ward atmosphere, the nature nurse-patient interactions and patient outcomes in UK psychiatric acute admission units. Brief solution-focused therapy (SFT) an approach which aims to shift focus professional care away from traditional concentration on individual's problems weaknesses towards a more proactive identification their strengths positive coping mechanisms. This relies collaborative engagement with patients, nurse or therapist using simple language help construct plan ensure immediate safety while working identify, reinforce mechanisms achievement identified future goals. paper reports pilot study whose principal objective was determine whether short training brief SFT for nurses can produce measurable improvements two wards. In this study, 36 undertook 2-day course were followed up 3 months after training. Positive results obtained number measures indicating had acquired knowledge skills applying techniques clinical work.
