A Spatial and Temporal Evaluation of PHABSIM in Relation to Measured Density of Juvenile Atlantic Salmon in a Small Stream

摘要: Abstract We evaluated the relationship between weighted usable area (WUA) predicted by physical habitat simulation (PHABSIM) model and population density of juvenile Atlantic salmon Salmo salar in Catamaran Brook, New Brunswick, Canada. Various temporal spatial scales study were used to establish whether a positive linear existed. The PHABSIM was applied 19 sites representing four types, various streamflow scenarios calculate amount available WUA. Maximum WUA values for different types reaches usually occurred at flows 85% mean annual flow. Fish densities estimated electrofishing summer late autumn 3 years.
