摘要: Abstract A Yb 0.11 Gd 0.89 Ca 4 O(BO 3 ) crystal with new composition was grown by the Czochralski method. The structure measured and analyzed. unit-cell parameters of COB were calculated to be a =0.8089(7) nm, b =1.5987(6) c =0.3545(8) β =101.22°. absorption fluorescence spectra measured. maximum cross-section 0.79×10 −20 cm 2 , which occurred at 976 nm Y polarization. emission 1027 0.33×10 . radiative lifetime τ rad 2.74 ms. Stark energy-level diagram 3+ in field room temperature determined. ground-state energy level F 7/2 splitting as large 1004 −1 zero-line 10246 output power 9.35 W achieved continuous-wave (CW) mode, slope efficiency being 42.1%. Chemical etching experiment revealed that dominating imperfections studied dislocations sub-grain boundaries. existence defects could cause light scattering, degrade laser efficiency. influence on properties discussed.
