摘要: Abstract Effects of varying concentration sulphate (SO 4 2− ) ion on the pitting behavior 316SS have been investigated using potentiostatic critical temperature (CPT) measurements, current transient technique and scanning electron microscopy in NaCl solution containing 0.5% Cl − ions. The results demonstrated that when SO is less than 0.42%, CPT surprisingly lower without ion, showing an accelerating effect pit initiation, which different from traditional concept. As increases beyond higher displaying inhibiting initiation. Based above results, a qualitative model proposed to explain initiation mechanism ions-competitive adsorption between electric charges calculated process corrosion indicated morphology its dimension are dependent content chloride-containing solutions. larger pit, reflecting growth.
