摘要: It was widely anticipated before European Union enlargement that the accession states would have a negative impact on EU environmental governance. By extension, Parliament’s (EP) reputation as an champion might be threatened by influx of MEPs from states. An analysis all EP amendments to legislation between 1999 and 2009 reveals post-enlargement more successful at securing adoption its into law but these were less radical. These changes arise institutional adaptation prompted broad ideological shift right within EP.
