Reducing poultry preslaughter losses: crating density effects under different lairage periods at slaughterhouse

摘要: The aim of this work was to assess the effects densities per crate on preslaughter mortality broiler chickens, under different lairage time intervals. Preslaughter data from 13,937 flocks were recorded daily during 2006, in a commercial slaughterhouse southeastern Brazil. main factors which influenced rates assessed, such as density crate, periods and environmental controlled lairage. For above 7 birds it observed rise rates, mainly warm periods. During night, highest incidence death losses when adopted below 6 birds. Considered environment, desirable for reduction before arrival at 3 hours higher 1 hour crate.
