摘要: Submerged sediment cores were collected upstream of a dam in the Orne River, northeastern France. This was built context steelmaking to constitute water reservoir for blast furnace cooling and wet cleaning smokes. The also enhanced deposition zone. study performed unravel contamination status sediments evidence possible contribution sources. layers analyzed content, grain size, chemical composition, crystalline phases at bulk scale poorly amorphous sub-micrometer scale. Visual aspect, texture, color, mineralogical analyses showed that settled mainly composed fine black matter, certainly comprising by-products. Those materials highly enriched with Fe, Zn, Pb other trace metals, except relatively thin layer surficial had more recently. Bulk mineralogy revealed iron minerals, such as magnetite, goethite, wuestite pyrite, deep cores. Furthermore, microscopic investigations evidenced presence ferrospheres, goethite nanoparticles newly formed Fe-aluminosilicates; all originating from former facilities. variation mineralogy, combined specific profiles features, demonstrate different contributions deposit. features Fe-aluminosilicates could be used fingerprint contaminated sediments.
