摘要: To explore differences in maternal factors, including visitation and holding, among premature infants cared for single-patient rooms (SPR) compared with open-bay the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). A total of 81 were assigned to a bed space either area or SPR upon NICU admission, based on staffing availability each area. Parent holding tracked through term equivalent, parents completed comprehensive questionnaire at discharge describe health. Additional medical factors collected from record. Differences outcome variables investigated using linear regression. No significant gestational age birth, initial severity, hours intubation other that could affect observed across room type. Significantly more first 2 weeks life (P=0.02) 3 4 SPR. More stress was reported by mothers after controlling social support (P=0.04). Increased parent is an important benefit SPR, however, stress.
