摘要: Objective To study the effect of vitamin E in treatment primary dysmenorrhoea. Design A randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial. Setting secondary school Tehran Iran. Population Two hundred and seventy- eight girls aged 15-17 years who suffered from Methods Participants were given 200 units or placebo twice a day beginning two days before expected start menstruation continued through first three bleeding. Treatment was over four consecutive menstrual periods. Main outcome measures The severity duration pain amount blood loss at months. visual analogue scale (VAS) used to record validated Pictorial Blood Loss Assessment Chart (PBLAC) measure loss. Results In group lower with months (median VAS score 3 vs 5 P > 0.001) (0.5 6 shorter (mean 4.2 [7.1] hours 15 [17] (1.6 [4.0] 17 [18] 0.0001) assessed by PBLAC (54 [31] 70 [40] (46 [28] [37] 0.0001).
