摘要: Recycling of materials effects the environment and thus greater impetus is being given to develop like biodegradable composites from renewable sources. A composite made up natural reinforcements matrices that are friendly. Natural in have several advantages reasonably good specific modulus, low cost abundant availability comparison synthetic reinforcements. In this study areca frond fibres reinforced with calcium carbonate rubber latex as binders, starch, water, vinegar base material glycerol plasticizer. Matrix ingredients included corn starch (15-30 g), water (30-60 (5-10 g) (10-20 g). fusion hand layup compression moulding technique was used prepare panels. Taguchi method an optimization reduce number desired experiments while maintaining quality data collected for finding significance various factors their levels which affect response. L8 orthogonal array six two combination experimentation. Specimens flexural tests were cut out prepared panels performed accordance ASTM standards. Maximum strength 48.54 MPa obtained a (30 (10 (5 (20 Analysis variance (ANOVA) on S/N (signal noise) ratios larger better characteristics calculated. Results indicated has maximum effect (33.18%) followed by vinegar, carbonate, water.
