摘要: The aim of this study is to investigate the presence insulin resistance (IR) in patients with untreated early rheumatoid arthritis (ERA) and its relationship adipokines, inflammatory cytokines, treatment. In prospective study, we enrolled 46 ERA a disease duration <1 year, 45 sex-, age-, race-, body mass index (BMI)-matched controls. Patients controls diabetes or history glucocorticoid (GC) disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) use were excluded. assessed at time diagnosis (visit 1) after 6 months treatment 2). main outcomes homeostatic model assessment IR (HOMA-IR) β-cell function (HOMA-β) quantitative sensitivity check (QUICKI). A multivariate regression analysis was performed analyze adjusting according lipids, composition, physical activity, nutrition, cytokine adipokine levels. baseline HOMA-IR, HOMA-β, QUICKI values similar both groups. However, showed lower levels total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein. Moreover, cytokines resistin concentrations higher than Multivariate indicated that BMI factor positively associated HOMA-IR negatively QUICKI. After DMARD treatment, improvements parameters lipids whereas remained stable. Furthermore, adiponectin decreased slightly. Our data suggest not present either symptom fat appear be related.
