摘要: Multiple observational studies along with a limited number of randomized clinical trials suggest that intensive hemodialysis (IHD) not only improves outcomes for uremic patients undergoing chronic dialysis but does so more favorable cost/benefit ratio compared conventional hemodialysis. As result this, there has been rapid increase in the interest home (HHD) as HHD represents easiest means implementing IHD. While generated increased given its association better outcomes/reduced hospitalizations, are very few controlled comparing other methods. Reported HHD-associated survival benefits in-center from uncontrolled studies, which raise patient selection bias underlying differences found. Thus, while draws increasing attention, pay careful attention to psychosocial, demographic, and factors associated selected undergo will be needed ultimately demonstrate benefits, clarify applications, determine limits IHD use patients.
